Stop Bathroom Peeling Paint

A concerned homeowner wrote and asked, ” I have a bathroom ceiling that peels…I have tried Zinsser’s B-I-N…no luck! Do you have an interior primer to solve bathroom peeling paint? How would I prep the surface?”

Steve Ryan, the original Mad Dog and founder of Mad Dog Paint Products, has this to say, “When it comes to bathroom peeling paint, we do have a product that will help.  If you are just covering a stain or water marks, a solvent based stain blocking primer like Zinsser’s B-I-N,  1-2-3 or Kilz will work best for the money.

If you want to stop bathroom peeling paint and cracking paint, Mad Dog Crack Fix is what you need.  Crack Fix contains an adhesive that grabs on to the painting surface, stabilizing hairline cracks up to 1/8” and glues peeling paint down with a firm but flexible quality. Crack Fix is also breathable, has low VOC and cleans up with soap and water.

Stop bathroom peeling paint
The bathroom is by far the hardest environment for walls and paints. Moisture from the shower can penetrate into the wall which can cause bathroom peeling paint.  Steam and water can seep into cracks of the walls and structure. Traditional oil paint products become very hard, inflexible and non-breathable.  When moisture pushes through the hard coating of traditional paint, it will sometimes peel.

Mad Dog Crack Fix solves the bathroom peeling paint problem. As the bathroom walls and ceiling expand and contract with the heat and cold, the dryness and moisture, most traditional oil based products become brittle and crack. Mad Dog Crack Fix has enough flex to adapt with the temperature changes.  Crack Fix has just enough firmness to keep peeling and cracking from coming back again.

Mad Dog Crack Fix is very easy to use and can be used by both contractors and DIYers.

I tell people Crack Fix is like a brushable paste because it is very thick.  Still, you can apply Mad Dog Crack Fix to your bathroom walls and ceiling in some simple steps:

  1. Clean the bathroom area to be painted first. Then, work Crack Fix aggressively into the cracks and peeling areas using a paint brush. As you push it into the cracks it stabilizes the structure below the surface.
  2. Smooth it out to a thin coating.
  3. Allow it to dry for a few hours or overnight. Tape and patch the areas as you normally would.
  4. Crack Fix will help your bathroom interior paint project last 2-4 times longer than traditional oil based products.

Please read and follow the directions and best practices tips on the label before you use it Crack Fix for the first time.
